Introduction	Maus (Dr. Mausoom) is the General Manager of Sun Island Resort & Spa, Maldives. Mausoom was the MP for Kelaa Constituency (2009-2014); and held Maldives’ Cabinet Portfolios as Minister of Environment, Energy and Water; and Minister of Tourism & Civil Aviation. From 2004 to 2007 he was the Head of Maldives Tourism Promotion Board. Mausoom spent over 10 years abroad for higher studies in Malaysia, Germany, Northern Ireland, and England. In 2004 Mausoom was conferred with doctorate degree by the School of Public Policy, University of Birmingham, UK. Mausoom’s doctorate thesis was on the inter-dependency and the relationship between the government and the private sector in sustainable micro island tourism development. Dr. Mausoom served at both Tourism Promotion Advisory Council and College Council of Maldives as a Council Member; and served as a Director at the Boards of State Trading Organization (STO), and Maldives Transport & Construction Company (MTCC). Mausoom has attended several travel trade fairs, seminars and conferences in Asia and Europe and has given lectures at conferences, universities and colleges in topics related to sustainable tourism development.
