Introduction Once upon a time, it was just me and I had no idea what I wanted to be when I “grew up,” so I joined the Air Force and became a Vietnamese Linguist and met my hubby. Eventually, I had to give up on the Air Force. Enter civilian life. Oh, and a baby. Gabriel joined us in 2003. We had NO IDEA what we were in for. This was a child who didn’t sleep for the first 2 years of his life. It was misery punctuated with brief moments of “oh, isn’t that cute?” We moved to California in 2005 and Gabriel eventually began to sleep. Thank the heavens above! So, we did what any family would - we got a puppy. I am a bit of a dog aficionado. I love big dogs. Princess Sofie Cheyenne joined our clan in May 2007. She is now over a year old and about 100 pounds and she rules the roost.
Interests My Puppies, cycling, reading
Favorite Books I devour books the way Travis eats M&Ms. A few of my favorites are: The Griffin & Sabine Trilogy (never would have married Travis had he not liked it), Harry Potter (of course), Atlas Shrugged (it’s really good if you can get through the first 500 pages), The Time Traveler’s Wife, Memoirs of a Geisha (I can’t believe it was written by a man!), Wild Swans, She’s Come Undone (again, written by a man - and it’s told from an outcast teenage girl’s perspective), Running With Scissors (reminds me of my family), Snow Flower & the Secret Fan, The Tenth Circle (actually, anything by Jodi Picoult, if you can handle the intensity), Wicked (I love to have my assumptions shattered), and anything by Amy Tan or Anne Rice -- For Starters.

For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:

Dear Auntie: Thanks for the sweet cock! I have no idea why you thought I needed one - we're all set around here. --Amy
