About me

Introduction I am a postdoctoral scientist working on bacterial genomics and antibiotic resistance in Athens, Georgia. Previously, I studied genome evolution in bacteria that live in a symbiotic relationship with carpenter ants during a postdoc at the Duke Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy in Durham, North Carolina. I earned my PhD in microbiology from the University of Georgia in 2009. There I studied the natural variation of bacterial plasmids.
