| Introduction | I retired one year ago from 24 years as a full time teacher. I had also worked as a part timer in community college, as an elementary gate teacher and as the "writing lady" for grades K-6 in my own children's former elementary school. I love all sorts of exercise...as a matter of fact, I view exercise as the key to sound mental health:)...and a focus in my life are family members, no matter how far away they live, as well as dear, dear friends. Writing has always been my default pleasure, and now I am beginning to experiment with some different ways to broaden my writing experiences and hone my skills. I guess this blog attempt would fall under the category broadening experiences. Retired life is still very new to me, and while I have my "why did I leave that defining and comfortable place to wander new territory" moments, most of the time I embrace my new freedom. I might not always feel comfortable with unscheduled days, but then the challenge is to use them to explore as well as enjoy the life that surrounds me. |
