About me

Introduction For over 40 years I have lived and worked in St Michael - which must surely be one of the most spectacular wards in the whole land. For the first 37 I was a teacher at Winchester College, living in Kingsgate Street/Road - and I also sang as a lay clerk in the Cathedral for the first three of those years. In my semi-retirement, I have moved up the hill to Dawn Gardens. I now spend quite a bit of time on the DofE Award, sitting on the Hampshire Forum and assessing Expeditions in the New Forest and in Cumbria. I am also a community governor at the Westgate School. I have long-standing interests in drama and music: I directed the Winchester Operatic Society's 2009 double-bill of Cavalleria Rusticana & Trial by Jury and, more recently, Fiddler on the Roof, both shows in which a number of residents of the ward took part; and I ran the close harmony group Cantores Episcopi for a third of a century.
