Introduction There are hundreds of blogs and web sites focusing on ecotourism, green tourism, volunteer tourism and numerous other 'ethical' tourisms. These seem to have transformed from market niches to markers of moral intent. The lifestyle politics of tourism is everywhere. This blog, by contrast, seeks to question holier than thou tourism and champion mass tourism in the face of its detractors. Having written a number of books, papers and articles on this theme, and having taken part in some debates and TV / radio programmes, the aim here is to bring together and develop the ideas in a blog. I'll also be blogging from time time on other human geographical themes I am interested in, and on issues in education and politics. I also oversee the East Kent Salon blog on behalf of a few people involved in this project.
