| Introduction | I'm an Associate Director of the Great Lakes Folk Festival. I started working on the crew of the Festival of Michigan Folklife, back during 1987, the year of Michigan's sesquicenntennial. I have been involved with the production of folk festivals ever since. 2012 marks my 26th Folk Festival. My job at the Great Lakes Folk Festival is arranging for all the technical equipment needed to make the festival run. I rent tents, tables, chairs, portajohns, audio and lighting equipment, stages, walkie talkies and misc other items needed to produce our wonderful festival. We start working, in earnest, in January to present the festival in August. When I'm not working on the festival I like to do creative things such as singing in a choir, dancing and calling contra dances, knitting, quilting, tie dyeing and baking cookies and cakes. I live in Lansing with my husband, Eric, and our two dogs. I enjoy living in Lansing because there are always options for things to go out and do. I also enjoy traveling and seeing new places, but it is always nice to get home when travels are done. |
