| Introduction | Having years of work history as a law enforcement officer, licensed securities broker and college preparatory educator (Finance, Accounting and Economics), I am a bit of a renaissance man. The combination of familiarity with both the public and private sector leaves me with a very unique viewpoint. I have seen and learned a great deal in my years and have developed what I believe to be a conceptually consistent philosophy of every individual’s right to life, liberty, property and the corresponding individual responsibilities that should accompany these rights. If you are inclined to follow this blog, you will find a very distinct style to my writing. My grandfather, who was only educated through the eighth grade but yet one of the wisest men I have ever known, used to say,” Name calling is the last weapon of the intellectually bankrupt.” I have always liked the quote by William Wrigley, Jr., “When two men in business always agree, one of them is unnecessary.” An intense intellectual debate over issues is healthy. This is how we learn from each other and grow as a people. Mere name calling is unproductive. |
