Introduction Clive was born a normal child but that adjective has not subsequently been used about him. He saw no need to walk before his second birthday, and has since mastered ambling, strolling and staggering, though not all three at the same time.

Clive was born in Ghana, to an English father and Indian mother. He lived in Nigeria during the bloody Biafran conflict, but enjoyed a cushy expatriot lifestyle in a company house, with a company car, company servants and frequent travel to India and England to visit family. He was a member of the BOAC Junior Pilots Club.

Since then, Clive has led a largely sedentary lifestyle in the lovely antipodean city of Adelaide, and most recently, in the idyllic Adelaide Hills. He spends his days working as a writer and editor and his nights singing, playing piano, guitar and badminton or meditating upon the intrinsic mysteries of language, which seem ever more mysterious after a couple of pints of ale. During the evenings Clive takes lessons in life from his delightful 7 year old son, Jonathan.
