Introduction My full time job involved the review and analysis of inventions and patents. I'm also involved in creating new patentable inventions. Am currently part of an Adjunct faculty in a Singapore University. Due diligence (aka literature review) in the form of Technology intelligence and Competitive Intelligence are part of the inventing process. Since 1998 till now, I have analyzed over 600,000 (conservative estimate) global patents - mostly US patents. These patents can be classified into 5 tiers, where Tier 1 patents are those inventions that are fundamental inventions such as US Patent 4,723,129 and WO/1994/028902, while Tier 5 patents are crap inventions such as US Patent 7,070,813 and US Patent Application 20070035812. Academically, I've a Master of Science (Machine Vision) from University of Leeds and my PhD research involved the technical and market value of patents. I am also certified by the Institute of Patent Attorneys, Australia under the South East Asian (Patent) Drafting course organised by FICPI. My post doctoral research interest include patent analytics and modelling, computational economics and exploring the use of calculus in patent analysis.
