| Introduction | We waited eight years after the wedding before having a family, long enough for concerned church matrons to prayerfully take me aside and lecture me on the folly of keeping my reproductive system on ice for years. Nobody needed to worry; my ovaries thawed out and sprang into action like Mel Gibson in Forever Young. Our son Devon was born on March 29, 2010 and identical twin girls Carrie and Melina were born August 1, 2011. No, we didn't make up for lost time by having three babies in two years. If we started sooner, simple math reveals we could have twelve kids by now. We're more like the farmer who prayed for the end of a drought and got a flood. |
