Gender Male
Industry Non-Profit
Occupation Vice President of Communications for Men Can Stop Rape
Location United States
Introduction Once upon a time I grew up in Lubbock, TX, where I caught horny toads, pulled tumbleweeds away from fences, played basketball at Christ the King High School, drank beer at Uncle Nasty's, and was sort of a regular guy. Then I moved with Abby, my partner, and our daughter to Chicago, where the last meat I ate some 20 years ago was a Parky's hot dog, and where I drove Fred Small, a progressive folk singer, to and from the 1992 National Organization of Men Against Sexism conference. Now I'm Communications Director for a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC called Men Can Stop Rape, which mobilizes young men to find and use their strength for creating a culture free from violence, especially violence against women. I'm still not quite sure how all of this happened.
Interests reading novels, reading and writing cultural critiques, watching independent, documentary, and foreign films, reading graphic novels and drawing cartoons, making short documentary films and taking photos, writing, especially fiction and poetry, taking walks, eating good Mexican food, going to thrift stores
