IntroductionOnce upon a time I grew up in Lubbock, TX, where I caught horny toads, pulled tumbleweeds away from fences, played basketball at Christ the King High School, drank beer at Uncle Nasty's, and was sort of a regular guy. Then I moved with Abby, my partner, and our daughter to Chicago, where the last meat I ate some 20 years ago was a Parky's hot dog, and where I drove Fred Small, a progressive folk singer, to and from the 1992 National Organization of Men Against Sexism conference. Now I'm Communications Director for a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC called Men Can Stop Rape, which mobilizes young men to find and use their strength for creating a culture free from violence, especially violence against women. I'm still not quite sure how all of this happened.
