| Introduction | I was born and raised in NC and returned five years ago after living in New England and the UK, where I completed my Master's work in the history of science. Before global warming was sexy, I worked on the science and human rights fronts. But those were desk jobs and I longed for soil and soul, so on weekends I worked at the New Alchemy Inst in organic agriculture. Fast forward...I now work in global health and have the great privilage to travel to low resourced countries in Africa and Asia. I am just back from India and will head to Ethiopia the end of May. Coming full circle, I will return to my ecology roots -- though in fact, I never left -- and begin an eco-design course in the fall. As I love mountains, meditation and nomadic cultures, you might guess why I am so very excited about our trip to Tibet! I am looking forward to getting to know everyone. |
