| Introduction | Jakub Hošek* (1979), czech artist, has been twice nominated for the Jindrich Chalupecky´s award (2005, 2007-the most prestigious Czech award for young artists), for his paintings he uses very interesting technique. He lays on the canvas acrylic paints through the cardboard stencils. As a result he creates technically complicated and precisly made paintingswhich are attractive not only at the first sight. Encrypted texts and lyrics are typical features of Jakub Hošek works. Mostly names of songs of his favourite bands or names of idols can be found there. The texts in his pantings need not corespondate with the painted symbols or motives. That is why the audience are often completely confused. Director of am180collective (www.am180.org) |
