| Introduction | Brad Richard is a poet living in New Orleans. His book Motion Studies won the 2010 Washington Prize from The Word Works, and will appear in early 2011. He is also the author of Habitations (Portals Press, New Orleans, 2000) and the limited edition chapbook The Men in the Dark (Lowlands Press, Stuttgart, Germany, 2004). Brad's poems and reviews have appeared in many journals, including American Letters & Commentary, Barrow Street, Bayou, Delmar, The Del Sol Review, The Iowa Review, The Laurel Review, Literary Imagination, Massachusetts Review, New Orleans Review, Western Humanities Review, and Witness. He has been a resident at The Vermont Studio Center and The Ragdale Foundation; received fellowships from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Surdna Foundation; and was the poetry winner in the 2002 Poets & Writers Writers Exchange competition. He heads the creative writing program at Lusher Charter School. Brad's partner, Tim Watson, is a producer/editor who has worked on a number of award-winning projects.
