Gender Male
Location San Diego, California, United States
Introduction Born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1951. Lived in Brookline, Lynn, and Marblehead. Then lived in Ireland and traveled Europe from 1968-1969. Returned to Massachusetts, graduated high school in Cape Cod, almost enlisted in the Marines (80% went to Viet Nam at that time), and instead worked one year as an orderly at Soldiers Home Hospital in Chelsea. Then relocated to Houlton, Maine, attended Ricker College, worked in the library, and majored in English. Spent two years there, exploring abandoned farms and New Brunswick, Canada. Then put all my belongings (including my bed) into an old Ford Econoline window van and drove West to California. Landed in Santa Barbara, where I studied two semesters of photography at Brooks Institute until running out of money. Weekends I'd drive to the Santa Barbara mountains and stay overnight near a monastery. I would bring my typewriter and write stories. Don't know what happened to my writings, though...Came to San Diego in the early 1970s. Lived in Los Angeles from 1979 to 1986, when I was part of the Lubavitch Chabad movement. Left the fold and returned to San Diego. Worked for the County from 1988 to 2002.
