Introduction I have 8 amazing kids ranging in age from 11-23. Ray and I have always had a heart for adoption, but we had rules. Good rules. Rational rules. Rule #1- we won't adopt until our bio kids are older. You know, so they're grounded in their faith and well on their way to growing up. Rule #2- we won't adopt a child older than our oldest bio child. After all, you never know what you're going to get and you don't want influence going the wrong way. See, GOOD rules! Rule #3- we will only adopt ONE child. Sibling groups are scary. And by sibling group I mean two kids. Shudder. So, those were the rules. Ha. Now we are living life outside the rules. At first, and sometimes still, this is very overwhelming. I am thankful for others who are living outside the rules, and who are kind enough to write books and blogs about it. I like learning from them and their mega-family systems. Now, a few years later, we have some systems. Some are working great and some need to be tweaked. Some are disastrous. So while my intention was not ever to write a blog, maybe I have something to contribute here. And maybe you have something to teach me. So, let's begin...
