Introduction	I am taking Texas state and local government as a requirement for my nursing degree. Prior to my taking U.S. govt last semester, I was not keen on politics. However, U.S. govt piqued my political interest and I am now a registered voter. Baby steps, yes? I would like to stay more informed about the on goings of our local government and become a more politically active citizen. I possess a right-leaning ideology, placing more emphasis on states' rights rather than Federal government. These days I find myself fist-pumping with the libertarian views of Ron Paul. The more I hear this man speak, the more I like of him. Some say his ideas are too radical but I think a healthy dose of radicalism is just what our country needs-- a swift kick right in the, well, you know. ; ) I digress. A fair warning to my fellow bloggers: At some point during this blog I am bound to say something that will offend one of you, and this is good. If I can offend you, this means you are not brain dead and know what is important to you.
