| Introduction | Beginning Utah Ranchers is a program designed to demonstrate and educate beginning ranchers in new technologies and best management practices. The program is modeled after the Beehive Master Livestock Manager program and utilizes material found in the Cow/Calf Management Guide and Cattle Producer’s Library. A mentoring program is also being established so younger ranchers have the opportunity to communicate with more experienced ranchers. The main goals of our program are to: • Educate and demonstrate best management practices and how to mitigate risk • Educate and demonstrate land stewardship and grazing sustainability • Demonstrate the latest technologies in genetic testing and selection • Certify participants in the Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program |
