| Introduction | Staff Sgt. Greg Thomas joined the Marine Corps in 1997. He went through boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., and he attended job training at the Defense Information School at Ft. Meade, Md. Staff Sgt. Thomas has held various positions in his job field including: writer, photojournalist (both print and video), web master, layout & design editor, managing editor, web editor, and his current position as marketing & public relations director. He has interviewed the width and breadth of the military spectrum from recruits in boot camp to the sitting Secretary of the Navy to celebrities such as Bill Curtis and Harvey Keitel. He joined the Marine Corps after two years in the honors program at college because he realized college was not going to give him the experience he needed to become a successful photographer (his ambition at the time). Many things have changed for him over the years, but he considers the decision to join the Marine Corps one of the best he ever made. |
