Introduction | Amy Luskey-Barth holds a Masters in Pastoral Counseling from Trinity College of Graduate Studies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from USC. As a writer, theatre artist, bereavement facilitator, director, and teacher, Amy is passionate about the healing power of storytelling. She has spent thirty three years in educational theatre. Motivated by her own experience with grief and loss, Amy began Purple Sage Arts to help others channel the healing power of their creativity. Her story includes being the primary caregiver for her brother who died of AIDS and for her mother who had Alzheimer’s disease. Her compassion for the bereaved is informed by her experience of the sudden death of her father when she was twenty-two, financial reversal, and the closure of a family business. When Amy returned from Terezin in the Czech Republic, the former Jewish Ghetto, where art and music thrived during the Holocaust she was inspired to employ the power of artistic expression to transform suffering. |
