Industry Arts
Occupation writer, editor, musician, educator
Location New Jersey, United States
Introduction The author hails from the Atlantic Ocean resort of Surf City, New Jersey. A sailor, surfer, architect and musician, he has designed and built sailboats and surfboards, performed in rock bands, taught secondary-school English, edited the periodical The Absolutist and written novels including 'Love Me Do', 'Pamela; or Virtue Reclaimed', 'Deirdre, the Wanderer', 'Gothic Night' and 'The Castle of the Seven Virgins'. Inspired by Christian moralism, 18th-century fiction and the gothic, his novels and verses feature modern, astute characters, exotic or fanciful settings and surreal social conditions. The author has two daughters, with whom he produced the schoolgirls' comedy programme 'The Jarmman Show' for cable-access TV. He lives on a yacht sailing the US east coast.
