| Introduction | I love to fish whenever I get the chance, whether it be freshwater or saltwater. It's one of those activites that will make you forget about all of life's frustrations when you're out on the water. My favorite species of fish to target is by far the blue catfish. Many people in Virginia don't realize they have a top-3 nationally ranked blue catfish fishery in their backyards beginning right in downtown Richmond! Couple that with the spring spawning run of shad and stripers by the millions, the amazing fishing that the Chesapeake Bay has to offer, as well as access to fertile offshore waters - make Virginia a fisherman's paradise! I encourage everyone to go wet a line and enjoy the natural resources that Virginia has to offer. And don't forget, practice catch-and-release on all big fish to preserve the trophy fisheries for current and future generations! All my catches are dedicated to my grandfather, Charles R. Pritchett, who always took the time to take me fishing as a kid. Those are memories I will cherish forever! |
