| Introduction | My name is Karen. I was raised with my 6 siblings in a small SW Missouri town by my parents and Grandma. I've now lived in Ohio 47 years with the man I have loved and been married to for 54 years. We raised 2 children, a son and a daughter, both married with families of their own. For 18 years we were foster parents for the state of Ohio. Bringing the grand total of children that have lived (admittedly some for only a short period of time) in our small 3 bedroom home to 50! I can honestly say life was never boreing. We now have 6 wonderful grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren! Since retiring from fostering several years ago I began working with the Red Cross. I was able to go to Mississippi and help after Katrina and have been to Pennesylvania to help after flooding there. I enjoyed working with the Disaster Relief team and cooking for local blood drives. I have now cut back considerably on doing volenteer work, but continue to love spending time with our church family and friends near and far. My life is Busy and Blessed! I thank God for all that I have. |
