| Introduction | Ben began his love of bike riding from about 5 years of age and as soon as he could get his leg over the top tube was when his competitive blood started to flow! His Downhill Racing Career began in the Sunshine Series 06/07 where he managed to finish 3rd overall in Under 15 Male on a dirt jumper! It was not long before new bikes and equipment were on the agenda. He continued to compete in State and National level events and enjoyed a measured amount of success. In 2009 Ben set a goal of being selected to represent Australia as a Junior member of the National Downhill Team. This goal became reality in 2011 when he was selected for the Team to compete at the World Championships in Champery, Switzerland. 2013 will be a year where Ben will explore his options in relation to riding and racing both within Australia and overseas where he will continue to represent his Sponsors in the best possible manner. His plans are to compete in selected rounds of the Australian National Series (Thredbo & Bright?) and Oceania Championships in Hobart. He may elect to travel to Europe for several rounds of the IXS Downhill Cup and World DH Cup Series. |
