| Introduction | I proudly wear the different hats of Journalist, Trend Observer, Fashion Commentator and Artist Promoter simultaneously. I've got a Journalism degree from Rhodes University, having majored in Media Studies, History, Sociology and Art History. My first job was as a stylist and writer for Cosmopolitan Magazine, and after two years at Cosmo, I started contributing to other magazines such as True Love, True Love Babe and Elle Magazine. In the past two years, I've worked as a writer for various publications and companies including Dion Chang’s Flux Trends while managing marketing and public relations for Palesa Mokubung’s Mantsho and Outrageous Records. I'm currently writing full time and constantly looking for new opportunities to learn, grow and teach. My fashion journalism saw me winning the coveted Sanlam Fashion Journalism Award for 2009 after breaking the story of the Smarteez in Elle Magazine. I've just returned from New York Fashion Week’s Fall Winter 2010 collections where I interned at Video Fashion. This all means a lot, but nothing at the same time. Everyday, I wake up and feel like I know nothing. So I have to and start again. |
