| Introduction | Film and television composer with music in 200+ films and CDs distributed nationally by Simon and Schuster. He is the author of "Autobiography of an Angel", and a widely-respected photographer in the EU & America. Simon and Schuster distributes his Whispers Healing series nationally, created with best-selling authors Deepak Chopra, M.D., Toltec shaman don Miguel Ruiz, ("The Four Agreements"), Jack Canfield, (Chicken Soup for the Soul) and "Power of Now" author, Eckart Tolle. He scored 64 TV shows for John Bradshaw, produced by MGM and with songwriter Jennifer Warnes, composed and produced the first major new age release to make the Billboard Charts. But far from being a "new age composer" he regularly composes in every style from jazz, heavy metal and house to experimental dance and big symphonic scores for the London Symphony Orchestra. His thirty year career spans every continent and an average of 50 million people in 26 countries hear his music weekly. |
| Interests | From the time they brought the little spinet piano into the living room when I was five, it never occurred to me that I'd ever do anything other than compose music. Music was and is my language, the only way I communicate competently with or about anything or anyone - the only thing I was ever any good at. Imagine my surprise when 40 years later, career in full flight and music in 200+ films, writing 18 hours a day, when the universe opened like a cosmic egg and dropped a miracle into my world. Skye was born. I don't know what I was expecting but he literally taught me the meaning of life and how to love. After a lifetime of looking down the wrong rabbit holes and barking up the wrong trees, Skye brought unconditional, free-flowing and all-pervasive Love of the most intense, spiritual and multi-dimensional quality. Had he not arrived, I would never have known anything about love.I would not have known that heaven has a scent Skye brought in at the top of his cranium that is so distinctive I can identify it anywhere, immediately. | Favorite movies | BIO - Continued My music is in a wide variety of films from the Chainsaw Massacre to a lot of little French cult films like "Claire's Knee". About once a year, a hit film will come along like "Twilight", which used a unique arrangement I wrote and performed on solo piano of Debusy's Claire de Lune, which has become the hit of the film's soundtrack. I was very proud of that track because it showed the restraint and brittleness I felt Debussy had written into that melody and meter that most performers who were not composers completely miss. I was the series composer on Dave Chappelle's first sitcom, produced by the great writer-producer, Matt Williams, who created Roseanne and Home Improvement, which led to the project I am best-known for in Europe. According to both Peter Gabriel and Ancient Future, I invented the musical style, "World Fusion", and the World Panel of the European Broadcasting Union got firmly behind it and coordinated its broadcast in every EU and Eastern European country. The project they endorsed was one I produced for the London Symphony Orchestra and about 90 virtuoso players of indigenous instruments. The audio link is to this exploration into the world of techno-trance, GOA and indigenous music composed for 90 ethnic instruments, rock band, jazz band, electronica and the London Symphony Orchestra, which performed the album at Abbey Road Studios in London. All the music notwithstanding, the hands-on healing that has cured people of chronic illness, all means nothing compared to my best accomplishment, and most important occupation - being father to my 12-year-old boy, Skye. |
