Why does the color blue mean raspberry-flavored?

Obviously someone decided blue should denote raspberry flavored because red was alredy cherry and pink was already strawberry. But I really think they could have developed a "raspberry" color that is not pink or red, but in the same family. I hate raspberries, anyways, they make me want to vomit.
