IntroductionI used to keep some mean bees but my wife chided me into not wearing protective gear so now most of my bees are friendly. Beekeeping can be expensive, time consuming, inconvenient, and sticky, times ten! My wife must be a saint to put up with me –you cannot imagine how beekeeping equipment ends up everywhere, propolis on the upholstery, bees in her yoga mat… I love to see a bee colony thrive and community of colonies flourish. That and an appreciation of economy have led me to aspire to be a bee breeder. There is a great need for more people to be involved with improving the local honeybee gene pool. I’ve met a lot of great people and made many good friends through beekeeping.
