| Introduction | In July 2009, I embarked upon an "adventure" with my family. We decided to sell our house and cars in the United States (Boston) and move to Buenos Aires, Argentina for ten months. The goal: to expose ourselves to a different culture, to spend time together as a family, and to recharge our batteries. Life was hectic in the States - I just completed my residency in internal medicine - so a break was much-needed. Currently, I'm giving private lessons in medical English and looking into potential research opportunities. Although we have loved Buenos Aires thus far, I would be loving it more if I was more comfortable with my Spanish. This is how the blog originated. I came across an opportunity to learn conversational Spanish for free while in Buenos Aires. What's the catch? Well, here's how it works. I get to try out this new language learning program ("Bueno, entonces") for the small price of one blog entry per class. So follow my journey to learn Spanish on-the-fly while navigating my way through everyday life in a Argentina. It's sure to be an adventure. |
