| Introduction | I love all things to do with the great outdoors. Growing up on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park meant that i spent most of my early life on one mountain or another. I have been fortunate in my working life to have spent most of time taking people into and teaching people about the mountain environment. Working as a Mountaineering Instructor and Expedition Guide both in the UK and overseas has given me the privelege of seeing first hand the effects (both positive and negative) of adventure tourism on local culture, communities and environment. Now in my role as Director of Nurture Lakeland i am able to pass on this knowledge and insights to help to protect the very special landscapes of the English Lake District. |
