| Introduction | Australians have a unique colloquial language, coined ‘strine’ by linguist Alastair Morrison (imagine saying Australian with your teeth gritted to keep out the flies) in 1966. Our family came to Australia from the United States two years ago, and already my two older children (ages 5 and 8 now) are speaking 'strine' and my youngest (age 1) is destined to only know speaking 'strine.' This blog is my son's idea, he wanted to have a place where we can write about our family and our experiences here in Australia. Enjoy! |
