IntroductionI live in the flat with a cat. I'm a non-fundie Christian. I work as a cleaner at the University of Queensland Union and one day hope to finish my Masters in literature.
InterestsChristianity and religion, left-leaning politics, forteana, literature and classics, history, pretty well anything to do with the arts
Favorite moviesThe Fisher King, Amadeus, Blade Runner, Branaugh's Shakespeare (esp. Much Ado), The Mission, The Name of the Rose, The Madness of King George, Amadeus, Cyrano de Bergerac, Amelie, Tous les Matins du Monde, tbc
Favorite musicClassical and choral music to the 19thC, sacred music, Medieval and Renaissance music, Occasional hard rock and definitely melodic rock (Especially The Church, The Saints, The Waterboys, and heaps of mostly "alternative" 80's and 90's bands). Folk music of most descriptions- from traditional and 60's folkies, to protest and heaps of contemporary folkies like Eric Bogle, The Bushwackers, Mick Thomas, John Schumann, Alistair Hulett, the Pogues and similar bands, these days with an emphasis on Australian bands of that ilk. Songs of working and normal people, protest and political songs, and songs of joy and love as well as hardship.
Favorite booksUsually whatever I'm reading... at the moment, Andrew McGahan's "White Earth". C.S. Lewis, The Gormenghast and LOTR trilogies, A.S. Byatt (working my way slowly through The Virgin in the Garden) and many other literary authors both past and present. Harry Potter, Phillip Pullman, Mark Helprin, the Obernewton series and other fantasy books. Intelligent Christian books.
