Introduction Rabbi Barbara Penzner has served Temple Hillel B'nai Torah in West Roxbury, MA since 1995. She is a Reconstructionist leader, combining interests in Jewish learning, spiritual life and social justice work. Rabbi Penzner is currently co-chair of the New England Jewish Labor Committee and has championed the rights of hotel and hospitality workers, janitors and domestic workers, and supported the Fight For 15, the campaign to raise the minimum wage Barbara was born in New York and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City. She and her husband, Brian Rosman, have lived in Jerusalem twice, once for one year when they were first married, and a decade later for two years. Their daughter Aviva went to kindergarten and first grade overlooking the Old City and their son Yonah was born there. In 2011, Brian and Barbara took Yonah to visit Iceland and discovered Rabarbara, an Icelandic liqueur made from rhubarb, a plant native to Icelend. Plus, she's a tried and true Red Sox fan, ever hopeful. (and KC Royals fan, at heart) www.templehbt.org
