Introduction Kentucky Colonel Galen A. Smith Sr. is a Writer & Podcaster. Smith is a native of Memphis & attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss., from 1982-87 where he studied Liberal Arts, majoring in Print Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology. Smith was a reporter for the Ole Miss Review in 1984 and a Senior Staff Writer, Contributing Writer and Entertainment Editor for The Daily Mississippian, the student newspaper, from 1985-87 while at Ole Miss. Smith is a former sports writer for the Logan Leader and News-Democrat in Russellville, Ky., in 1987. And he was also a staff writer, an editorial assistant and a book reviewer for the Bowling Green (Ky) Daily News from 1990-95. He was also the editor and publisher of "Upsouth," a newsletter for Southern and Catholic writers from 1993-2001 and hosted several local cable TV access talk shows through the years, "Let's Talk Insurance," "Writer's Corner," "Eye On Taxes With Sen. Rand Paul," and "Upsouth." He has lived in Bowling Green, Ky. since 1988. Smith is married with one son and is the host of "The Dad Rocks Podcast."
