| Introduction | I am the mother of 3 grown sons -- no grandchildren yet -- but I'm hoping. I love to travel whenever possible - especially to visit my sons in Colorado and California. Art of various kinds is my passion and I'm a member of a very small local gallery which is only open one day a month. In addition to that, I'm in the process of figuring out what else I want to do with my life ~ probably involving a combination of my passions and my past skills: some combination of art and "helping." I don't have a specific plan yet. I love crystal clear water and beaches -- miss them so very much. None-the-less, I also love the rich black soil of the midwest prairie where I live. I'm an unabashed fan of American Idol, Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You can Dance. I love to see talent of various kinds! |
| Interests | doll making, clay tile painting, jewelry making, reading, writing poetry now and again, going to galleries and art fairs, attending work shops and seminars on areas of interest, movies and dinner out with friends... |
| Favorite movies | OH SO MANY...most recently, The Soloist has touched my heart. I love movies which inspire me and make me laugh and cry in addition to good old romantic comedies like When Harry Met Sally. I like action and mystery but not blood and gore. |
| Favorite music | Varied music including jazz, blues, oldies, light rock & folk, but my car radio is most usually left on new country (NOT the old twangy ones!!) |
| Favorite books | oh my....again, there are so many. Anything by Jodi Picoult, Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Lamont, Maya Angelou. I like to explore new authors and enjoy non-fiction, especially related to people who are doing things to make the world a better place like Three Cups of Tea. Probably my all time favorite book is Their Eyes Were WAtching God by Zora Neale Hurston because it is the most lyrical work of literary art I have ever seen. Her descriptions and language lift me right up out of my body. |
