About me

Introduction	Hi. My name is Renata Spies and I'm from Brazil. In 2008 I immigrated from England to New Zealand with my British husband Robert and our son Benjamin who was 2. In 2009 our son Daniel was born and I always wondered how much of the Brazilian culture or English culture they would be exposed to living in a foreign country. In 2012 I started the International Children's Group in Raumati Beach. An initiative with other foreign families to encourage our children to embrace different cultures and mostly to never forget their own culture and where they come from. I believe that a multicultural learning environment helps young children learn to respect and understand other cultures as well as their own. I really hope that the International Children's Group can achieve a little bit of that...
