| Introduction | I've always painted. I've had various jobs but gravitated inevitably to painting full time in 2004. 18 months ago I was painting everything I could see in my area of North Devon. Since then a couple of subjects have provided a rich source for paintings. Cows have appealing faces that peer up at you out of the dark shapes of a herd. More recently clouds have occupied my time. By taking the clouds and sky out of the landscape it is possible to explore the infinite colours and shapes and many moods that they create (see my exhibition of cloud paintings at the Landmark Theatre, Ilfracombe from 29th April to 31st May). Anyway, if I could describe what I see in words I would be a poet and not a painter. So look at the paintings and make your own mind up. |
