Introduction Long story short, after almost eight years in the private sector, missing my family while traveling and working, I recently reinvented myself as an elementary-school teacher. I spent two tough years "secretly" taking classes for my master's at Bank Street College while working full-time. I quit my job this summer to make a new start. I guess you might say that all these years later I still can't resist the smell of fresh paint in the school buildings in late August, hallways echoing my solitary footsteps, waiting for the burst of energy that September brings.... I got to see school that way, because I grew up living on the grounds of my school, where my brother and I went, where our parents taught. So call it fate, call it coming home, it's what I know will make a difference in the world. And after 20 years in the work force and away from the classroom, I'd like to do my part to make the world a better place. I hope to discover that being a teacher of young children is a great way to do that. This blog is to reflect on my student-teaching experience and possibly beyond...
