Introduction | I was born, reared and educated in Louisiana. I grew up in Lafayette, LA, although I haven't lived there since I left after graduating from UL, in 1987. I am married with one daughter, a freshman at UT Austin (Hook 'em Horns!). I work for a leading travel-related services company. I am involved in the IT side of things, mostly system planning and administration. I played trumpet in the high school band. It took a lot of work and time to participate in and caused me swear off playing music after that. A work colleague persuaded me to begin playing the bass in his garage band (at age 38). I have been obsessed with it since then. I started playing in a local blues band called "The Yard Dogs." After gigging for about 6 months, we found out that some in the DFW area was already using that name. Instead of fighting it, we changed our name to "Texas Mojo." Texas Mojo disbanded after a few years and I took up with a group called "Mike and the Majestics." A few months later that imploded as well. Now I just go to blues jams around the DFW area and hope I can find some guys to play with and gig occasionally. |
