| Introduction | Reviews but more so, ratings, are subjective. My personal rating system works as follows: 1 star: Terrible/DNF 2 star: It is only mildly ok/ish 3 star: I liked it 4 star: I really liked it. A definite recommendation to all who read the genre 5 stars: It blew my mind in some way. Sometimes this is due to the story touching on a very personal matter to me or because it had the ability to pull me in to a magical land. This system does not always translate directly to ratings on all websites. For Goodreads it is broadly similar, but for Amazon I would bump up a star. Bookbub ratings lie somewhere in between. If you read a review of mine on more than one site, this is the reason ratings may differ - not because I totally lost the plot! |
