| Introduction | I was a river, born off a tiny spring on the high mountains. I had lived a life of slumber, and one day, I was carried out of my tiny hole amongst the ferns, into the water of the brook. I was scared, I knew that I was destined to lose my identity. But, the very idea of belonging to the sea one day, urged me to move on with courage. I was ambitious, but apprehensive. I faced several rough twists and turns. I was initially terrified of the roaring waters. But soon, I began enjoying the adventurous journey. I travelled over rocks and fought with stray, floating logs. But my courage was not deterred. "All things give way before courage, soon or late. What obstacles can stay the mighty force Of the sea-seeking river in its course?" My patience and willpower were rewarded. As i covered my last mile, I was hesitant about risking my name. But then, I thought, "If all rivers refused to join the sea, the mighty ocean would be lost." Courageously, I entered the vast blue mass. And, today, I proudly say that I AM THE GREAT SEA. |
