| Introduction | In the early 1980’s the YBF was formed (exact date unknown). The earliest recorded officials we can find are from 1985. The committee then was D Piper Chair, B Pratt Vice chair, J Buttifant Treasurer, acting Sec J Buttifant. Other members R Ninham & R Seager. The YBF was started to provide leagues playing rink bowls (See Rules Section) as until then all federation bowls played in the area was roving cot, with the exception of the small Framingham League of approx 8 teams in the Framingham area. The YBF initially provided a league of two divisions with approximately 10 teams in each division consisting of teams of 12 people in 4 blocks. We now have three divisions Later, the afternoon Anglia league was started which consists of 6 people in two blocks there are now two divisions. We also have a knock out cup for all teams called the Howlett Trophy. Again with four blocks The founder clubs were all from federation bowls clubs. We have now moved on and encompass federation and EBA clubs in the Norwich area. |
