Introduction I grew up in Idyllwild, in the mountains of Southern California, and now live here again with my husband and 17 year old son. I started painting in Cape Town, South Africa, when my son and I lived there from 2004 till 2010. Within a year of taking an art class I was exhibiting and selling my work through galleries. I exhibited with the French Consulate in Cape Town, and with the South African Society of Artists. When I began painting my work was strongly influenced by German Expressionism--strong bold colors, dramatic and sharp lines, simplified forms. Today my color palette has softened and my style has evolved into a kind of impressionism. I work mainly in oils but also linocut prints and reverse glass paintings.
