Introduction	The love-child of a peacock and a bowl of dumplings, I was raised under a small ornamental stone in a front garden somewhere on the outskirts of the Greater Toronto Area. At the tender age of thirty-nine, I left home to seek my fortune in the real world, as it were, and somehow emerged with a degree in English and cultural studies. Having no formal training, then, I took up the knitty arts, and developed a taste for the scent of photographic developing chemicals, and defiantly using anything but normal paints to make paintings.
