| Introduction | My name is Kristin Ballenger, and I am a senior majoring in Education Finance with a Focus on Title I Elementary Schools (my minor is in Elementary Education). Teaching offers me such a wonderful and exciting opportunity to invest my time into the lives of my many students, and I know of no other job that offers such an intimate relationship with children. At the elementary age, students have young minds that can be crafted and molded to love education and to value its true importance. I hope to come alongside such aspiring students and show them the true value of their work and the amazing potential each one has to succeed. I now seek to immerse myself into new cultures and backgrounds. Title I students help to offer new perspectives due to their unique lifestyles and family upbringings. While they may struggle financially, I firmly believe that all students deserve to have a quality education, despite the current achievement gap among schools. I seek to become a teacher to give such students an exciting and excellent education that will reveal to them their great capabilities and will open their eyes to the enormous potential for their futures. |
