| Introduction | Born in France in 1958, after classic studies I practiced fashion photography (I love the company of women) for seven years. Turning 30 years of age called for a different lifestyle and I started to travel the Earth. Mostly going on self assignements, sometimes for magazines. After a few years of Kodachromes and SLR’s, in 1995 I went to India with my 2 recently acquired Leica and a challenge to myself: no more color films, no more magazines to please, only black and white and the desire to create a meaningfull photo story. Three winters later, after sharing for so long the lifestyle of Indian Sufis, I was back home knowing a beautiful side of Islam and many photographs to show. A first exhibition of this work took place at the “Palais Batha”, ancient Palace in Fez Morocco during the Festival of Sacred Music in 1999; what a synchronicity… Following this artistic success, I started to study and practice Yoga, Tantra and Meditation. My recent work is about the effect of practicing these ancient sciences. I now photograph one’s inner states associated with specific spiritual practices. |
