About me

Location New York City, United States
Introduction I have travelled for many years, seeing almost 50 countries and revisiting many of them numerous times. My passport looks like a paperback. My job took me to many of those places, and the income from that job allowed me to visit still more places. My attitude toward travel has changed recently. For a long time, I eschewed photographs. I'm not sure why. Also, I tended to avoid places that felt like touristy historic sites, and instead favored relaxing locales. Things changed in the summer of 2011. By this time, my job had changed: a lot less income but a lot more free time. I also did my first around-the-world trip this year, accompanied by a digital SLR, although only with a zoom lens. I relearned how much I had once loved taking photos; I was hooked. From that point, a camera would always be my side on trips. I later added a great point-and-shoot, which is now my default travel camera. I had walked the streets of so many of the world’s capitals for years in a dismissive way. Seeing them through a viewfinder gave me a new appreciation for their historic grandeur. I hope to tumble across a lot more of the world in the coming years.
