| Interests | I grew up in West Virginia, the very southern end of the state. I was crazy about the outdoors, quite the tomboy really. I have loved art ever since I can remember and wanted to be an artist. My degrees were in art education, and I spent most of my life as a teacher. Now I have time to paint. It is amazing how much it helps to just paint and paint. I have studied with some really good teachers, Albert Handel, Richard McKinnley, Anne Blair Brown, Mary Ulm Mayhew, and others. I would love to go back in time and take a class from William Merritt Chase out at the end of Long Island in Shinnecock Hills. I have a group of artist friends that support each other. It is a great community. We own an artist's cooperative in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where we exhibit our work. It is called the Q Gallery. It is a great life and a wonderful place to work. |
