| Introduction | I'm a 28-year-old woman in search of all things beautiful and sacred in this big world of ours. I was bitten by the travel bug very early in life, as I always dreamed of traveling abroad.This desire intensified when I learned that my father traveled to India in 1974 for the Kumbh Mela, a huge religious festival held only once every 12 years. He brought back with him a green and black blanket depicting various Hindu gods and goddesses which captured my young imagination and inspired me to take my own trip to India years later. But my first trip abroad was during my high school years when I went to Belgium, where I spent a year as a foreign exchange student and also traveled to France, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, England and Austria (my favorite european country). I have been to Thailand twice, once on a three week trip and another on a year long stint as an English as a Second Language teacher in Chiang Mai. I have also been to Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Singapore and Montreal, Canada. Right now I'm more than halfway into a year long contract teaching English in Daegu, Korea. |
